Tools and basic techniques

Instead of a thousand words... I mean tools! - a pencil or liner is enough. Palette, brushes, water — all this you can use later, but now there is only one tool and a blank paper.

Features of the lesson:

You will find out what tools you can take with you in order to "be fully armed" at any time.

We will analyze the basic principles and techniques of working with a liner.

Leeson 1. Landscape.

In the first lesson we will visit Cyprus, where spring is already there in March...

How to sketch such a landscape easily and quickly?

Features of the lesson:

We will learn how to make a contrasting sketch of a landscape where we can express different tones tone and details using only one tool. Here, in practice, we will immediately master the basic techniques of working with a liner/pen.

Lesson 2. House by the road.

Now we will sketch a house by the road in wonderful Montenegro!

Features of the lesson:

In this tutorial, we'll take a closer look at how to use contrasts for more expressiveness in black and white sketches. And you will learn how to show the depth of space in the drawing and make accents on certain objects.

Lesson 3. Fishing boat.

In this tutorial we will find ourselves on the seashore and make a rather detailed sketch of a fishing boat, peacefully swaying on the waves.

Features of the lesson:

Here you will learn how to draw water and reflection in a realistic and beautiful way.

Lesson 4. Urban sketch.

And we will stop in amazing Istanbul to create a sketch portrait of this city.

Features of the lesson:

You will end up with a spectacular sketch where you can capture the atmosphere and pulse of the city and express them with just a few strokes.

You will start looking at the world as an artist

— through the prism of shades, shapes and dynamic lines.

ARTIST NADJA LEUTLOFF

Hi! I'm Nadja Leutloff. As a child, I dreamed of becoming an artist, but have begun to paint only at the age of 41...

I live and work in Dresden. By education — I am mathematician. In 2014, I left my field of work to create the dream come true and become an artist. Having no experience in drawing, I devoted myself to studying the basics and daily practice in drawing and watercolor.

Now I do paintings, I teach and conduct master classes around the world, and I believe that nothing is impossible!

I am absolutely convinced that everyone can draw and paint, because I have already gone this way!

List of tools:

  • liner (Sakura Fineliner Pigma Micron 05) or
  • ink and pen or
  • ballpoint pen or
  • pencil (2B или HB)
  • eraser or kneaded rubber
  • stetchbook, notebook or
  • regular printing paper

It's an exciting learning experience for those who:

  • wants to escape from everyday and emotional problems
  • wants to learn how to draw spectacular illustrations
  • is afraid of "blank paper" and experiments
  • wants to learn how to sketch quickly and easily
  • loves to draw for the soul, but puts it off for some reason
