Lesson 1. Rainy Dresden


First of all we will visit an Old square to paint the main Lutheran church in Dresden — Kreuzkirche (Church of the Holy Cross).


Features of the lesson:

You will learn to very simply, but at the same time, effectively portray city views and the atmosphere of a rainy day.

Lesson 2. Dresden Castle


In the second lesson we will walk to one of the oldest building in Dresden (12th century!) — ex-residence of the electors and kings.


Festures of the lesson:

You will learn how to “construct” a complex city view with an illusion of an abundance of details without drawing each of them.

Lesson 3. Cafe by the Elbe


For the third lesson we will make a cozy break in an old cafe by the Dresden river to relish a beautiful view and great coffee with traditional German cake Eierschecke.


Features of the lesson:

You will learn the secret how to picture German half-timbered houses and red roofs and how to alternate different color transitions depending on the lighting.

Lesson 4. Walking in Dresden


During the fourth lesson we will take a walk along the cozy streets of my beloved city, enjoy the atmosphere and choose a nice view for a stylish watercolor painting.


Features of the lesson:

You will learn how to paint urban landscape conveying the space, volumes and measured vibes of a small European city.

Lesson 5. Romantic Dresden


We are going to "take a walk" in my favourite and cosy city of Dresden, enjoy its atmosphere and paint a lively, stylish sketch.

Lesson features:

"Construction" and adding liveliness to the urban landscape

You will look at the world as an artist — through the prism of shades, shapes, and dynamic lines.

Lesson 6. Walk along the shore

In this lesson we will take a walk along the shore of the Elbe.


Lesson Features:

In this lesson, you will learn to transmit soft, autumn light and even bring some sun on a cloudy day!

You will learn to build in the urban landscape, your brain will cease to be afraid of experiments.

Lesson 7. Walk in the park


And after that we will take a stroll through the reviving park, enjoying its atmosphere and light.


Features of the lesson:

During this lesson we will analyze the traits of lighting, work out the methods of expressing tonality and contrasts typical for spring scenes.

Lesson 8. Spring light in Borten


Then we will find ourselves in a cozy street of the Saxon village of Borten, wich is located close to Dresden, where the smell of spring is already there and the sun is playing with bright colors.


Features of the lesson:

We will look at an example of an architectural construction with two vanishing points, figure out how to give versatility to the work and learn how to make these bizarre shapes of the shadows.

Hi! I'm Nadja Leutloff. As a child, I dreamed of becoming an artist, but began to paint only at 41...

I live and work in Dresden. By education - I am mathematician. In 2014, I left my field of work to fulfill the dream and become an artist. Having no experience in drawing, I devoted myself to studying the basics and daily practice in drawing and watercolor.

Now I do paintings, I teach and conduct master classes around the world, and I believe that there is nothing impossible!

I am absolutely convinced that everyone can draw, because I have already gone this way!
