Course content
Lesson 1. Cozy house in Tversted.
On the first postcard from our trip to Denmark we will depict a charming house surrounded by greenery with the sea in the back ground.
Lesson features:
In this lesson, we will learn how to confidently build the perspective of the house, as well as using a combination of shades to depict a variety of greenery without drawing details.
Lesson 2. Walk along the North Sea.
The second lesson is already on the seashore. At dawn, at sunset, during the day? As you wish, unforgettable beauty is guaranteed!
Lesson features:
Here we will master the “wet” technique: the right choice of color and spectacular stains will make our postcard look completely different from the ordinary one! And also we will learn how to depict the silhouettes of people, which will enliven our landscape even more.
Lesson 3. Fishing boat in Löcken.
On our third postcard there will be a boat that we found in a former fishing village, which has now become a popular tourist town in Denmark!
Lesson features:
We will start drawing such a difficult object with careful construction, so that we are satisfied with the result, and subsequently use this skill to depict anything!
Lesson 4. Evening lighthouse in Hirtshals.
Our fourth postcard will be the most contrasting! The light of the lighthouse in the evening sky, and below there are also bright spots of windows. And a gentle sunset in the background...
Lesson features:
This lesson is about light. The light of the sky combined with dark clouds, the lights in the darkened houses and, as the main accent of this work, the bright glow of the lighthouse.

Hi! I'm Nadja Leutloff.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming an artist, but began to paint only at 41...
I live and work in Dresden. By education - I am mathematician. In 2014, I left my field of work to fulfill the dream and become an artist. Having no experience in drawing, I devoted myself to studying the basics and daily practice in drawing and watercolor.
Now I do paintings, I teach and conduct master classes around the world, and I believe that there is nothing impossible!
I am absolutely convinced that everyone can draw, because I have already gone this way!
Material List:
- Professional set of 16 colors or more (White Night, Schmincke, W&N, Daniel Smith, QOR, Mijello...). Preferably in tubes.
- A palette
- A pencil (2B/HB)
- An eraser
- A flat soft paint brush 20-25 mm. made from any natural material (pony, goat, cows, etc.) OR A round brush («Белка», 8-10 mm)
- A natural round brush (kolonok, 5-6 mm) with a thin tip
- Watercolour paper A3, grain fin, 300 grams, 100% cotton (Arches, Clairefontaine, Fabriano)
- A watercolour sketchbook, 100% cotton (optional)
- Titanium White/Chinese White watercolor OR white gouache
- Masking fluid
- A thin (liner) brush
- A paper tape
- A cup for water
