Lesson 1. Hut in the mountains


First of all we'll draw a wooden house with a roof shining in the sun. There is fresh grass and a lot of air around - perfect! You will learn to easily and freely depict a background without detailing, the texture of a wooden hut and a bright lawn.


In this lesson, you will learn how to:

🔸 Realistically depict radiant sunlight.

🔸 Use different painting techniques for the imposing mountains in the background, without overwhelming them.

Lesson 2. Blooming apple tree


Then we will draw white apple tree flowers opening towards the sun against the background of the variety of shades of the sky. You will learn how to effectively and easily convey the depth of space, the play of light and shadow, as well as details and general shapes.


In this lesson, you will learn how to:

🔸 Depict apple blossoms in a three-dimensional manner.

🔸 Use warm and cool colors for the delicate blossoms.

Lesson 3. Spring sun


In the third lesson we stop in front of the door, admiring the patterns of falling shadows and the glare of the sun. We will analyze the features of lighting, work out techniques for conveying tonality and contrasts, as well as soft and hard edges of shadows.


In this lesson, you will learn how to:

🔸 Differentiate shadows in a painting that can simultaneously have soft and hard edges — and when to use each.

🔸 Depict an inviting wooden door.

🔸 Enhance light through glances and create more depth.

Lesson 4. Albrechtsberg Castle


And finally, I’ll tell you about the most beautiful park around the castle, which you can’t help but want to draw! These rays of the sun, these reflections in the fountain... Here we will turn the brightness of the sun to maximum, transmitting its glow through the branches of the trees and reflection in the waves of the pond.

Hi! I'm Nadja Leutloff. As a child, I dreamed of becoming an artist, but began to paint only at 41...

I live and work in Dresden. By education - I am mathematician. In 2014, I left my field of work to fulfill the dream and become an artist. Having no experience in drawing, I devoted myself to studying the basics and daily practice in drawing and watercolor.

Now I do paintings, I teach and conduct master classes around the world, and I believe that there is nothing impossible!
